Winners of 2004-2005 China Contest

1^st prize:

(The first author)
Name: Lingxin Hu
  He is a graduate student from Nanjing University of aeronautics and astronautics. His major is aircraft engineering. Now he is a member of Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He studied very hard, and because of his good study, he won a competency of becoming a graduate student without examination. From 2001 to 2006, he obtained the first prize of the Eighth “Challenge Cup---- National College Students Extracurricular Science and Technology Works Competition”(2003), the golden prize of the fourth " Chinese University Students Business Ideas Competition”(2004), the innovative technological prize of Chinese student (2004), the first prize of the “Flying into the Future---- 2004-2005 Space Exploration Innovation Contest in China”(2005). He was also entitled one of “the Ten Outstanding Students of China” (2006). On October 2005, He was interviewed by the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

1^st prize:

Name: Gang Shi
He was born in 1983. He studies in Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics,(NUAA) and majors in Air Vehicle design and engineering.When he was a child, he was full of new ideas and studied intensively. He was very curious about the mysterious space. In 2004, he participated The First National No-power Fly Competition and won the first prize. In 2005, he participated in the ninth “Challenge Cup---- National College Students Extracurricular Science and Technology Works Competition”. His works, “qiqi new concept unmanned helicopter”, won the first prize in machine group. In 2005, he and his teammates Hulingxin,Huazhen, participated “Flying into the Future---- 2004-2005 Space Exploration Innovation Contest”, which was cosponsored by the The Heinlein Trust and Chinese Society of Astronautics (CSA). After 5 months’ serious making and careful preparation, their works, “The“Generalist”Space Tether System” gained the first prize.

2^nd Prize:

Name: Gang Cheng
He was born in Wuhu,Anhui Province in November,1976. He is a PhD candidate of department of Precision Machinery & Instrumentation, University of Science and Technology of China. He has participated in several national research projects such as “863” project. He has done some research about lunar rover and deep space exploration. He was awarded both the second prize and the excellent prize of “Flying into the Future---- Space Exploration Innovation Contest 2004-2005 in China” cosponsored by the Heinlein Trust and Chinese Society of Astronautics (CSA). 2^nd Prize:

Name: Wei Jiang
He was born in 1979. He is a PHD candidate of Dep. of Precision Machinery and Precision Instrumentation, University of Science and Technology of China. The major research interests foucus on computer integrated manufacturing system, intelligent algorithms and so on. He was awarded the GE Foundation Edison Technology Innovation Competition Cup and the "Challenge Cup" . He has published several academic papers.

Name:Wenjie Bai
She was born on April 2, 1986. She finished her junior and senior Middle School education at Jinhu No. 1 Middle School from September 1997 to July 2000. She entered into University of Science and Technology of China in September 2003. She has won the following honors and awards: Excellent student in academy, morality and healthy of Jiangsu Province, 2003, Excellent League Cadre in University of Science and Technology of China, 2004. A member of The 6th Chinese Synergy Programme for Outstanding Young, visiting HongKong, Guangzhou, Xi’an, Beijing and Shanghai, 2005; The Excellent Prize (top 15%) for the Undergraduate Research Program of USTC, 2004, The Second Prize for National Mathematical Modeling Contest, 2005, The Second Place of “Flying into the Future---- Space Exploration Innovation Contest 2004-2005 in China”, 2005, Meritorious for the Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM), 2006. Name: Jing Tong
He was born in 1986 in Xiangyin city of Huan Province. From September 2001 to July 2004, He studied at Xiangyin NO.1 middle school; from September 2004 to present, he studied at Life-science college of University of Science and Technology of China. He has won the following prizes: The second prize of Chinese informatics olymptic games, Hunan district, 2003; the second prize of "Robert A. Heinlein Flight into the Future Project Contest", 2005. He is vice-chairman of student union of life-science College.
　

3^rd Prize:
Name: Jifeng Song
He was born in 1979. He had been matriculated in the Automation Department University of Science and Technology of China with distinguished honor in 1999, and was recommended exam-free to start the doctorate in intelligent system and information acquisition. He has gotten several prizes in national competitions and scholarship, and owns several patents of invention. He has an acute insight in technologies development.

3^rd Prize:
Name:Yubin Yang
He received the B.Sc. degree in computer science (1997) from Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping, Wuhan,China, the M.Sc. degree (2000) and the Ph.D. degree (2003) both in computer science from Nanjing University, Nanjing, China. He is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Joint Laboratory for Geoinformation Science of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests are in multimedia information retrieval, particularly for images and 3D models, spatial data mining and knowledge discovery, medical image processing and analysis, machine learning and intelligent virtual geographical environment.

3^rd Prize:
Name: Jinfei Che
He was born in November 1977. He studied in Xinjiang University of Technology from 1995-1999 and got bachelor degree in 2000; he worked the Xinjiang Passenger Transport Training Center from 1999 to 2002；from 2002-2004 he worked in the Administration and Execution Law Office of Tianshan Area in Urumqi; from 2005 to this day, he worked in the Communism Youth committee of Xinjiang. He has gotten the following honors: the National Patent, 1997; the National Patent—a kind of chemistry tooth brush, 2000; entrant in the First Xinjiang Business Idea Competition, 2003; second prize of the 12th ad feast, 2005; recognition award in Shanghai Picture Poster for Environmental Protection Competition; recognition award in Shanghai Telecom Competition of Public Service Announcement on information; 3rd prize in “Flying into the Future----Space Exploration Innovation Contest 2004-2005 in China” cosponsored by the Heinlein Trust and Chinese Society of Astronautics (CSA).
